I can’t say I’m loving the job here but it’s not too bad now that we’re waiting on lunch. Racks walks in looking like shit. “What the fuck happened to you?”

He stops short. “Tiny, I didn’t know they called you to fill in.” He looks like he’s going to be sick. His lip is split and he’s moving slow.

“What. The. Fuck. Happened. To. You?” I say slow, letting him know I want an answer.

He looks down, takes a breath, then looks back at me. “Couple of guys jumped me last night outside the Plank. Had my shirt over my head so I didn’t see who it was.”

What the fuck? “You were alone?”

“Yeah. I was leaving early. I knew Lana wasn’t feeling well, the other Prospects stayed inside.” He’s embarrassed.

I look at him. “You didn’t go back in to let anyone know?”

He steps closer and looks down. “When I woke up the place was closed. I was under a truck. Thank God it was left in the lot. I would have been run over.”

I pull my phone and call over to Transport. “Send me two Prospects ASAP. I’m at the Diner.”

I point to the counter, letting him know I want him to sit and go to the kitchen doors. “I need a breakfast, basic is good.” Danny tells Tom to get it going and walks over to me. I tell him what happened. He calls Rich to pull the feeds from the Plank last night and see who was on surveillance. I go back to Racks and get him some orange juice.

“Did Lana get to her appointment?” he asks, throwing me chin for the drink.

  “Kate’s got someone bringing her.”

Customers come in and Lucy seats them. I get the drinks and hand them over for her. Racks’ breakfast is up and I slide it over to him. He eats like he’s starving. Fuckin’ Prospect worrying over Lana and showing when he’s hurt is a better Brother than the asswipe and some of the Brothers this morning. My Prospects come in with another group of customers following.

“Which one of you has worked here and is any good?” Balls says he’s got it and goes to the sink to wash his hands. Fuck me, I like that.

Baker looks at me. “I worked the Bakery and Transport.” He looks like he’s sorry he never worked here.

I smile. “Can’t all work for Sam. I need you to take Racks to Doc’s. He was jumped last night, unconscious for a few hours, see if he’s got a concussion and have him check his ribs.”

He nods, looking at Racks. “When you left?” He nods with his eyes on his plate. “Sorry, Racks, I thought you got picked up. I saw your bike there when we left. We should have stuck together, man. Come on, let’s get to Doc’s.” Racks uses his napkin and takes a breath.

“You were doing right, Racks, knowing you were needed, you were doing right. You should be safe in the yard. Brothers are already working on that. Let us do our part and take care of our own. Go get checked and let me know what Doc says. I’ll work out your schedule when you call. Yeah?”

He lets his breath out. “Yeah. Can you let me know about Lana when you find out? Sam was pretty worried.”

I throw him chin. They walk to the door, he’s moving slow. I hear Baker say he’s sorry he didn’t leave with him again. They’ll all be good Brothers. I need to let Pres know the Prospects are better Brothers than some of these others.

Lucy’s back, Balls is talking to her at the end of the counter. “Balls, you got this?”

He looks my way with a smile. “We may need some help at dinner but lunch should go fine.”

“I’ll get your help here before dinner,” I tell him, pushing through the doors.

Danny is standing by the stove, adding something in a big pot. “Balls is here to help Lucy. You need me to do something?”

He finishes and moves the page to a book on the counter. I walk closer and see the pages all color coded for him. He looks at a schedule and pulls a sheet out. “I need this pulled from the freezer for dinner. Sam marked a cart for me, it’s green. Everything you pull goes on it and it stays in the walk-in for another hour.” I take the sheet from him, it’s colored. “Eddie copied his book for me and coded them for when I’m needed here. If Sam adds something he colors it and adds it to my book.”

“I always wondered how you can do everyone’s job.” I read through the list.

He laughs. “Every job has a book. Ben and Patches are fuckin’ crazy with the books, but they make it easy for me. Eddie makes me a copy and he or I code them so I can just follow the directions.” He goes back to the book and pulls another sheet. It’s a fuck of a lot more than just following directions. He just made breakfast for close to a hundred people without a complaint. The guy knows every job we have, it’s weird. Jess does the same thing with the women. She handles Kate’s emergencies or the store for Nancy; must be a family thing. I freeze my ass off for twenty minutes pulling boxes and trays for the cart. When I push it through to the walk-in it feels like summer. My damn fingers feel like they’re going to fall off.

Tom comes over. “Danny said to take over before you turn into a Popsicle.” He’s smiling like a pussy. “He’s at the back door taking the trash and recycles out.” I leave him with the cart and drop the page with the book as I walk through to the side door. I don’t know why they call it the back door; it’s on the side of the building.

I grab a stack of boxes and walk them over to the compacter bin. He’s dumping barrels. “Ben’s calling a meeting tonight with the Officers. We need to do something about the fuckin’ Brothers’ attitudes.”

He works quick. When the fuck did he have time to call Pres? “What time?” This is our last night alone, the kids move in tomorrow.

He’s walking back with the rest of the boxes. “Seven at the patio. Everyone should be done with dinner by then.”

I nod. That will be early enough that I have some time before Nancy falls asleep. “Did Rich give you anything on Racks? Fuckin’ Prospect woke up under a truck, thanking God the owner left it and he didn’t get run over.”

He’s pissed. “Yeah, we have a job on Monday. They’ll have more on that tonight, four fuckin’ offshore men docked in New Bedford. Their boat will have some problems, delaying their departure for two days.”

“Our job, the Club?” That’s a little much for offshore men.

He smiles. “No, Brother, you and me, maybe VP, but I don’t think we’ll need him.”

I nod and smile. I’ve never been on a job like that. He’s fuckin’ nuts with the way he handles people. Pres thinks he’s as bad as VP, just not as quiet.

We get back in and the tickets start piling up. Danny just keeps putting the plates up and I send them out the window. We’re having a good time when I remember about Balls needing help at dinner. Danny says it’s covered and goes right back to joking around; fuckin’ guy doesn’t let anything slip by him or shake him. As it’s slowing down Tom pulls the bus bins and I get the dishes in the big washer. Danny tells me our time is up. I look at my watch. It went by fast and we’re leaving early.

I ride to Nancy’s shop and see she’s got customers. I go right in the back to get the boxes and trash out for her. When I come back in she’s rounding the corner with a smile. She jumps on me, surprising the fuck out of me. “You guys did a good job today and you had fun.”

“Yeah, I didn’t see you. You should have come into the back.” I put one hand under her ass, the other on her tit. I pinch and twist her jewel.

She moans, and my cock jumps, liking the sound of that. “You were busy. Jess said everything was perfect, you did good.” She lifts my shirt and licks my nipple ring with a flat tongue.

“You’re going to start something you can’t finish, babe.”

She ignores me and plays with the other. It’s the most sensitive and has my cock hard and ready for more. I walk her to the table. Swiping a box off it, I sit her down and pull her shirt over her head. “Not playing, Tiny Dancer, I ain’t stopping for customers.” I flick her bra clip and take her nipple in my mouth. She loves when I play with her jewels and I make sure she has no intention of leaving befo
re I’m balls deep and drained. I lift her for easier access and get louder moans from her. She’s holding her tit for my mouth, squeezing from under, making me want to hurry this along.

I lift my head and look at her, fuckin’ beautiful. She smiles and slides down me. When her feet hit the floor she unbuckles my belt and has me in her hands. “Love your mouth, babe, but I need to be buried in you. Slide your panties off and let me see that pretty pussy.” She slips her skirt off. I groan, no fuckin’ panties. “You’re going to ruin me, woman.” She smiles wider. I lift her on the table and go to my knees. No panties means she needs to get off. I’m more than happy to slide my tongue in her folds. “Fuck, you’re dripping for me. You need my tongue in that pussy?”

“Fuck yes!” She’s annoyed. I smile and give her what she wants. Knowing she was waiting for me gets me working to get her off fast. My fingers are sliding in. I hook them, reaching for her sensitive spot and get her yelling, ‘more.’ I stroke inside her while my tongue feathers around her nub. Her ass bounces up. I slap her hip and keep going. When she comes she makes fuckin’ noises, letting me know it was good. She doesn’t have words, but I get it. I stand and slam into her, getting more noises. She’s got her tit in one hand and she’s pulling my hip with the other, she wants harder. I smile and flip her over, slamming back into her. I grab her hips so she doesn’t get hurt and I can pull her in harder. Fuck, I’m not going to last. I step back, pulling her with me. She growls, making my cock swell. “Get what you need, momma.” I don’t stop, I can’t stop, my cock is ready to explode. “Now, babe!” She yells her release and comes with her walls pulling on my cock. “Fuckin’ heaven.” I lean down and turn her face to me. She’s breathing heavy. I lick up her neck to her ear and drop a kiss behind it. I turn her head more and drop a kiss on her lips. “Your pussy is heaven.” She grunts. I smile pulling out and she groans the whole way. “Let me clean you up, babe.”

I get us clean and stand her up. Pulling her skirt up, I remember she doesn’t have panties. I get a pair from the shelf and get them on; she watches me with a smile. “Back to a perfectly fucked look, love the outfit, babe.” I stand and kiss her. “No customers, our lucky day.”

“I locked up,” she says with a sexy smile. Fuckin’ woman.

  “Last time you didn’t.”

She laughs. “Last time you were a heathen, you picked me up and carried me back here.”

I kiss her to shut her up. I did, she wasn’t pissed, so it worked out. “I’ll get Sandy; I have a meeting at seven.”

She’s got swollen lips and whisker burn up her neck. Fuck if I’m not getting hard again. She laughs, patting her hair down and noticing my bulge. “It will have to wait until after your meeting. I need to get to the store before dinner.”

“Fuck, woman, what could we possibly need? The Prospects brought enough food for a damn month.”

She gives me a look. “The rolls you like for the pot roast that should be done when I get home. I could forget them and throw you a slice of bread if you’d rather?”

“Fuck no, I like rolls with pot roast. I’ll get Sandy.” I kiss her, letting her know I’m sorry and go for my girl. Fuckin’ smart mouthed woman has me planning for tonight.

Racks calls me when I get to my truck. Damn guys broke his ribs and gave him a concussion. I tell him it was four guys and he thanks me saying he feels better knowing it wasn’t just one. I laugh when I hang up, fuckin’ Prospects. I get Balls to fill in for a couple of days. Baker yells in the background he can help after his transport shifts. Good Brother material.

We eat and I get the kitchen clean while Nancy gives Sandy a bath. I kiss my girls and walk the path hearing Cloud’s kids playing in the back. The Kids Club should be finished by the end of this month. Danny said they’re putting more steel girders in just to be safe.

Bob is in front of me when I get to the road. “Brother.”

He turns quick and has to adjust for balance. “Didn’t hear you behind me, Tiny.” We walk across together. Cloud comes running in as we sit, everyone is already here, but Pres is waiting.

“Little Ben’s got somethin’ for us,” VP says to the table.

I tell them about Racks needing a couple of days. Danny is pissed. “I’ll get Pam and Sam to send him food, just get me his apartment number.” He smiles, shaking his head. “I don’t need it, Prospects will deliver. Just about all of them live in the same building.”

I nod and turn to look at little Ben walking in; he’s almost as tall as VP now. Fuckin’ kid is growing like a weed and he looks like VP and Cloud. He throws chin and sits in between Danny and his dad, giving VP some papers. He reads them then nods to Pres.

Pres gets up and starts pacing. “We have two problems needing attention right away, the first is the Prospect, Racks, getting jumped outside the Plank. Four guys jumped him, took the money from his wallet, and rolled him under a truck.” ‘Fucks’ go around the table. “He’s got a concussion and some broken ribs. Doc said they worked him over, aiming to hurt. The video shows him fighting like a son of a bitch to get his in. He didn’t go down easy.” He smiles. “VP, Danny, Tiny, and Bob will deal with the men that jumped him. Geek and Rich, you’re running the Ops. I want these motherfuckers to know we take care of our own. Little Ben had Brantley follow and find account numbers for one of the pussies from the debit card he used; Racks’ money will be returned to him. Monday is the target date.”

He looks around. Everyone nods. “Next is the Associates and newer Brothers’ attitudes. This will be more difficult to address. Little Ben, what did you get from the video?”

He lifts the first page and looks down at it. “Three Associates and one Brother talking about Uncle Danny being soft and pissed because he has to work the Diner and being the Building Super thinking he’s better than he is. One Associate thinks he’ll kick his ass when he’s not expecting it.” He looks up quick. “Those were his words.” Pres smiles and rolls his hand for him to go on. “Tiny’s window dressing, his job is obsolete and he’s only around as a gift from you and VP. Some things were said about the women, but I’d rather not say. According to Jeremy three Associates don’t belong. He checked their names from Patches’ roster; one was at the Diner this morning. With the Brothers the problem is different. He said they don’t know. When I asked how to make them know he said video. Darren understood him or he talked to Darren, however it worked. Darren is putting video together like highlight reels for training. If I could explain more I would, but it’s Jeremy. He only gives what he thinks you can take or understand. That’s all I have so far.” He looks down embarrassed.

“In less than a day the Little Brothers did a fuckin’ good job, little Ben, don’t cut that short,” Pres tells him, making me smile.

“I don’t give a fuck what the Brothers and Associates think, let’s just get rid of the bad seeds and move the fuck on.” Danny’s pissed.

“That will only put a band aid on the bigger problem,” Cloud says.

“I agree,” Pres says, looking at Danny.

“The issue is ‘we take care of our own’ and how these newer members don’t get that. I for one, don’t feel the need to prove myself to fuckin’ Brothers. That’s not going to teach them taking care of our own.”

Little Ben looks at him. “Uncle Danny, you’re right about part of that. The new Associates and Brothers don’t get what the Officers do, they don’t see or hear what High Security does. There are a lot of Brothers that are clueless because we keep them that way. That will eventually become a problem; the training videos will address and erase a future threat. We didn’t come up with anything to deal with the ‘we take care of our own’ issue.” Danny looks at him for a minute. He visibly relaxes and throws him chin.

“Patches, Rich, little Ben, Cloud, and Danny, I want you to work together on how to address and promote ‘we take care of our own’. Our payroll is fuckin’ astronomical, I’d rather not add to it creating jobs that are nonproductive. Something’s happening between Prospecti
ng and membership to change what they’ve learned. We need to find and fix it.” He looks at them, they all nod. “If anyone else has an idea get with one of them, anything that you think that can help, give it to them. Is there anything else we need to go over tonight?”

“Yeah, we need more requirements for Associates. Some of these guys are assholes,” Alan says.

Pres looks at Patches. “Get with Tiny, Alan,” he looks around, “and Bull. Come up with requirements that would promote ‘we take care of our own’, make sure you get with the group working with that. I want the cuts that don’t belong on the Associates. If they want in, they need to prove their respect for what we believe. Anything else?”

No one has anything. “Sam called. He couldn’t be here because Lana is pregnant and having a rough time of it. Make sure you let him know you’re around for him. Danny is at the Diner again this weekend. Open to twelve he’ll need some help. If you can help, or know someone that can, send him over. That’s all I have, I’ll see you at Church.” He takes his folder, throws chin, and leaves. Driscoll, Doc, Digs, Geek, and Chet follow.

“That was nerve-wracking,” little Ben says, making us all laugh.

“Get used to it. You’ll be taking part in more of the Officers’ meetings. You’re doing a good job, little Ben, you shouldn’t be nervous about these meetings,” Cloud tells him.

“Proud of you, son, do your job, be honest. Can’t go wrong that way,” VP tells him.

Little Ben blows out a breath. “Thanks, Dad, Cloud.”

Danny stands and slaps him on the back. “I can meet tomorrow after six, the women are taking the kids to the Little Sister barn fire; we can meet over dinner if you don’t mind missing it, little Ben.” Rich laughs.

  “I don’t mind.”

“You and fuckin’ food, Dad, I’m in,” Rich says. Cloud and Patches nod.

“Good, I’ll ride over with you.” He looks at VP.

“Can’t leave town,” VP says and Danny nods.
